Welcome to Warwick Floorball Club. We were founded in the 2007/2008 academic year by a team of enthusiastic students who wanted to find something different from usual sports offered by the university.
The sport originated in Scandinavia, and has quickly spread throughout the world. It is very popular in many central European countries, and may be referred to by many names, such as Unihockey/Unihoc or Innebandy/Salibandy.
We aim to spread floorball throughout Great Britain by encouraging as many new players to join us in playing the sport. In just a few years we have rapidly grown so that we have currently have 3 teams and are the largest floorball club in the country with nearly 50 members. All of our teams play in the Midlands division of the Floorball League, and our firsts have also competed in the annual National Tournament. We also enter teams into University tournaments throughout the year so everybody can get involved and play at levels appropriate for their experience! Last year, we ran leagues within the university for fun, so you can form a team with your friends and come along and play!
Over the past year we have expanded our club's horizons, so that in addition to our 3 mixed gender teams, we have now created an all girls team, thus launching girls floorball in the UK! This year we are planning a schools outreach program so that we can spread the sport to a wider audience and get children involved in the sport from a young age.
You are welcome to join us, whether you wish to play competitively, have some fun, get fit, or just want to try something new.
