Here are a couple of videos to give you a quick idea of what dodgeball's like!
About Warwick Dodge
Warwick Dodgeball was founded in 2006, but quickly grew into one of the larger and more socially active clubs at the university. We are at the forefront of a sport growing across the nation (as the most successful sports club at Warwick and the largest dodgeball club in the UK) and we encourage both competitive and casual play. Most of you won't have played much dodgeball before, but it's an easy game to grasp - if you've seen the film, you'll know how it works. We have several highly successful Men's teams and a Women's team that play competitive fixtures and tournaments against other universities and other dodgeball clubs, but many of our members simply come along to the Friday fun sessions to play a few games and socialise with the other members of the club or to the many socials happening at least once a week.
We're also a club that values the social side of sports, and we have weekly socials both on campus and in Leamington. If you stop in early at Top Banana, you'll no doubt see one of the dodgeball drinking socials going on in our little corner - all are welcome, so feel free to come and join us. If you're not into drinking we won't make you drink and you can just soak up the atmosphere, but the vast majority of us ARE into drinking and the socials at £1 a pint Top B are perfect for those that want to start your evenings with a bang. Those of you that want to go to socials, just come along to the start of Top B you will usually see a big group of us.
Our training times (for guys and girls alike) are as follows:
Friday 17:00-18:00 in the Main Sports Hall (Casual play)
Monday 14.30-16:00 in the Desso Hall (Team Practice - all welcome)
Thursday 13:30-15:00 in the Desso Hall (Team Practice - all welcome)
All things told, we're a friendly club that welcomes both men and women and has an active social side. If you're interested in pursuing dodgeball to a decent level, you can do so here, but we've got just as many people that want to play just for fun or come to the socials. The sport is a little different to what you might be used to playing, but you'll find it's a lot more fun than you expect, so come along to a practice and give it a try.
