At our classes we teach Ju Jitsu, Aiki, Kobudo (Ancient martial arts weapons), Kyushu & Tuite Jutsu (Advanced nerve & pressure point fighting) and realistic self defence. Also incorporated into the classes are kickboxing, fitness, and stamina conditioning.
Group classes stress physical fitness as well as knowledge of practical self defence and fighting skills. Students learn not only ‘techniques’, but also how to apply their skills in real self defence situations. The techniques are designed to use your opponent's force against them; you do not have to be very strong. Improved fitness, ability to handle stress, and greater self confidence are some of the attributes gained through training; and a convenient schedule provides the necessary flexibility to meet the needs of all students.
Through your training you will become fitter, stronger, faster, more flexible and more confident. The syllabus covers armed and unarmed fighting techniques, effective striking, grappling and throwing, and groundfighting. Competition sparring and weaponry training are also encompassed, and gradings are held every term to qualify the skills you have learnt.
Our club is one of the largest martial arts societies at Warwick and enjoys an active social life including SCORE / POP, paint-balling, parties off campus and relaxed drinks after training.
Join us for a free taster session and let us prove that Kempo Ju Jitsu is for you.
All training is held in the Activity Room, top floor of Sports Centre, Main Campus.
