It may have been absolutely freezing but on Friday the 26th October Women's Football really pushed the boat out in the 'Wear it Pink' bake sale, with all money going to the admirable charity Breast Cancer Campaign. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer with 1 in 8 women in the UK diagnosed during their lifetime. The Wear it Pink bake sale, now a UWWFC tradition has always been a fundraising success but even more so this year.

With a stunning variety of pink clothes and fancy dress, balloons, witty slogans (Help save breasts seemed a little more effective than cakes for charity?) and some extremely loud voices UWWFC really managed to draw the crowds in. The baking effort was amazing, spanning from brownies to cookies to the individually boxed cupcakes! As the day went on, and hands became more numb, the crowds never wavered and every last item was cleared. The spectacular grand total, and UWWFC bake sale record, is £380 ; bring on the next one!
