INSURANCE DETAILS
If a vehicle hired by Warwick Sport is damaged when driven by an unauthorised person, Warwick Sport disclaims all responsibility, both financial and legal. In these circumstances, Warwick Sport shall automatically bill the driver for the cost of repairs. In this instance further disciplinary action may be taken against persons involved.
In the event of any accident involving other vehicles, it is essential that the driver exchanges insurance details with the other driver(s). If the accident is considered to be the fault of the other driver, it is important that the Student authorised driver obtains the names and addresses of any independent witnesses (other than passengers in the vehicle). If the accident is not witnessed, then the Police should be called.
In the event of an accident the driver is required to return his/her Student authorised driver’s card, until such time as clearance is given for the card to be re-issued.
In the event of breakdown, the driver
MUST report the fact to the University or external hire company and the breakdown service, details of which will be advised at the time the vehicle is taken out (or displayed in the vehicle). The driver should remain with the vehicle until the breakdown service arrives.
It is a condition of hire that, despite a vehicle being booked and confirmed by Warwick Sport, Warwick Sport accepts no responsibility whatsoever for providing a replacement vehicle should the one booked not be available, but every endeavour will be made to provide an alternative.
