Volunteering

If you're a member of a sports club or society at Warwick, why not think about volunteering as a group?

Warwick Volunteers offers lots of opportunities for members of clubs and societies to volunteer together and get more involved in the local community

Would your club like to work with local schoolchildren?

Warwick Volunteers is putting together a brochure of all clubs and societies that want to share their skills and experiences with young people. This brochure will be distributed to all local schools, who will identify which clubs and societies they'd like to work with over the coming academic year.

Activities would be agreed on an individual basis with the school you choose to work with. Your activity could be anything from a one-off football coaching session, to a regular drama class; whatever you and the members of your club/society would like to do.

Your club or society's contribution could be as much or as little as you like; there's no minimum or maximum time commitment, and no financial cost to you or your club. Warwick Volunteers will act as 'brokers' between the local schools and the clubs / societies that volunteer, covering expenses such as transport and assisting with logistics such as CRB checks.

Don't forget- clubs and societies that participate in local community projects can be nominated for the Clubs and Societies Community Award (worth £200).

If you'd like to find out more, or sign up to the scheme, email us at volunteers@warwick.ac.uk . We would need to know: what your club/society is about; what activities you are proposing (doesn't have to be too specific); what age-group you would prefer to work with (or any age); roughly how many of your members might participate. Also, it would be good if you can send a copy of your logo, and one or two photos of your club/society in action (suitable for publication to children!).

Is your club already volunteering? We'd love to know! Get in touch with us using the address above.
